Rajon Rondo going back to the Lakers with 1 year $2.6M deal

Staff Post

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted this morning that Rajon Rondo will return to his former team, the LA Lakers, after he clears waivers. The deal is just a 1 year contract valued at 2.6 million.

The Grizzlies signed off on the buyout this weekend for the 4-time All-Star player, which will see Rondo suit up in a Lakers jersey this upcoming season.

Rondo had his contract bought out by the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. The sides reached an agreement for the final year of his contract, which was $8.3 million, per ESPN.

Rondo won’t be alone in returning to the Lakers after this off-season’s shake ups – Ken Bazemore, Trevor Ariza, and Wayne Ellington are among the other Lakers signings. Expect to see a lot of familiar faces in the Staples Center for this 2021-22 season.
